All this new voice recognition software and hardware can be used to help singers, especially inside cars now that are being engineered to be sound proof. People will start using cars as cheap recording studios.

From the links provided, it appears that the expo took place in Japan, but with the outbreak of flu cases in Osaka many Japanese have began to only go out in public with a mask on.

I guess,he wears the mask because he speaks into the device and he does not want to soil the device with his breath.
I guess this is more the normal procedure than special behaviour because of sars of something like that.

I think that at the time this was taped, was probably at the height of the swine flu scare. I think this expo was in Taiwan, and in Taiwan ever since the SARS scare, many people take the precaution of wearing a mask in public when there is any outbreak, because the city is even more densely populated than NYC.
